I tried it a couple times as a kid before deciding it wasn't worth playing and moving on to Crash Bandicoot on my Playstation, then Generals when that came out. And I say that as someone who started gaming with Red Alert 2. Even Generals is flawed but it's so far beyond the isometric games that it's not even a competition. The story is cool, the concepts are cool, but the gameplay is a steaming pile of shit in every game up until Generals. People have massive nostalgia goggles for them, but they're simply *not good* in comparison to what we have today. It's simply because the games suck ass by modern standards.
